Aircraft Reviews by Miniature-Airplanes.com
Each time I get a miniature airplane, I paint it up and give a review of the miniature, its molding, historical accuracy,
etc.. Here you will find my take on who makes the best miniatures. You can use the list by Aircraft, Manufacturer, or Scale.
This is a work in progress, and I will continue to add as the days and weeks go on.
Heroics and Ros : Navwar
Heroics and Ros has long been a staple of my gaming diet. From the first pack of 1/300 ancient persians I bought for my wargame Armati, to the aircraft I now buy for my
fighter combat games. Heroics and Ros produce a great line of figs in its Navwar line that are perfect for your miniature airplane wargaming needs. Read the review of the collection I was able to obtain.
These figs are available at the online store over at Warbirdsinminiature.com.
Scotia Grendle Collectair
Battle of Britain
Finally all of the 1/300 Aircraft for Battle of Britain by Scotia Grendel Productions have been completed. I was able to review most of the aircraft in this line. Read my review
of the group of aircraft that fought over the skies of England in 1940.
Noble Air200
In this review we examine the sculpts and miniatures offered from Noble miniatures Air200 line. Noble, (located in Madison, Wisconsin, USA) has a lot to offer the
miniature-airplane gamer. They have a large line of World War 1 and 2 aircraft of varying scales. Their online store is a phone-order system, but hopefully they
will get that moved into the 20th centurey sometime soon. The figs we examine are from their 1:200 scale world war 2 line. These figs are also available at the online store over at Warbirdsinminiature.com.
Next Month - Heroics and Ros : The Americans
Finally got the images back from the photographer, and am already knee deep in writing reviews of the American aircraft in the
World War 2 line for Heroics and Ros Navwar miniature airplanes.
I received a large bin of aircraft and am working my way through them each. Hope to get the American Airplanes all up by mid March at teh latest.
Interview with Allan Wright
Developer of Blue Max Miniature Rules by GDW
We had the opportunity to interview Alan Wright, co designer and developer of Blue Max Miniature Rules by GDW. Allan describes how he got involved in
wargaming and how the Blue Max Miniatures Rules project developed. He also took the time to discuss some of his other projects, and provides
a couple links to some great pics of people playing Blue Max.
Interview with Phil Hall
Designer of Blue Max by GDW
Our first interview on miniature-airplanes.com. It has always been a desire here at MNA (Miniature-airplanes.com) to interview the designers of rules, the sculptors of
miniatures, and the developers of miniature aircraft gaming accessories. In September, thanks to the patient efforts of Phil Hall, we finally got our opportunity.
This month, we interview the designer of the game Blue Max (1983 GDW), Phil Hall. Phil Hall discusses his gaming hobby
as well as how he got into game design, and what he is doing now.
Interview with Jim Callahan
Designer of Aces at Dawn by Majestic Twelve Games
We interviewed Jim Callahan, designer of the World War I miniature airplane wargame Aces at Dawn. Jim has also developed the game For the Masses, also by Majestic Twelve Games.
Aces at Dawn is designed so that it can be played with any scale of miniature airplane. I am sure that if you get a chance to play it, you will not be dissapointed in how easy it is to learn or play.
Got an Article or Tip for fellow gamers?
One thing I love about this hobby is sharing information with others. Whether it be simple tips on how to glue a strut onto a 1/300
sopwith camel bi-plane to setting decals on an F-16, I hope that we can share that knowledge with each other. I have a load of tutorials and articles
that I have written, and I hope to even get some movies made of some of them to share. If you have anything that you would like to share, please contact
me :
