Heroics and Ros Navwar Part Two : German Aircraft
After several false starts we are finally able to start listing the german aircraft in the Heroics & Ros 1/300 scale NAVWAR line.
GA-102 $3.00 FW-190A
One of my favorite aircraft of World War 2. This model is a fairly accurate portrayal of the FW 190 A model, but doesn't quite meet the level of some of the other H&R aircraft.
I found it a bit uneven in the wings with a smaller fuselage around the (radial) engine area than was historically true.
While the model painted up very nicely, it required a bit of filing to remove the mold lines. It has the proper lines, but in my opinion needs to be a little more fleshed out.
I have to give it a 3.5. It is a good casting, put not the best it could be.
GA-103 $3.00 FW-190D
Much like the FW190D, this aircraft is close to its historical counterpart, but needs a little more depth to the aircraft to set off the distinguishing features a little better.
My model had several small pits all across te aircraft that I had to putty in order to conceal them when I painted it up.
I have to give it a 3.5. Not the best portrayal of the Dora.
GA-307 $5.00 JU-188
The H&R JU188 is a decent rendition of this aircraft. The wings are historically accurate, and the lines of the aircraft are decent. I noticed right away a small flaw in the wings of my aircraft, but a little bit
of putty set that to rights very quickly. There was enough metal to the aircraft to attach a rare-earth magnet to for the new stand tops I got from warbirdsinminiature.com.
The model overall is a good one with little extra work required to make it playable.
I have to give it a 4. A few monor faults in the cast I received, but a good model. (A note: I botched the job when I picked this one up - I was reaching for the JU88 and accidentally snagged the JU188 by mistake and didnt notice my error until I was already home!)
Heroics and Ros Navwar Overall Rating

The H&R (Heroics and Ros) line is a good collection of models. It has darned near everything I have ever looked for, as well as some aircraft I never thought I would ever see sculpted. Some of the
molds need some rework or touch ups, but other than that, this is a great line. The Aircraft in 1:300 aren't cost prohibitive, nor are they space-consuming. They do paint up very nicely and in my
opinion are the best line for 1/300 aircraft out there.
